Gloves Off is built to give young people vision, direction, and opportunity. By surrounding them with support, resources, and mentorship, we help them unlock their potential, grow their strengths, and prepare for a successful future despite the challenges they may face. I really stand behind this mission because I was once a troubled youth with no support to pull me in a different direction when I needed it most. This program is designed to be a fork in the road to give our youth a route of support and guidance when there seems to be a path of nothingness around. I will advocate strongly for this program because in my heart if I was able to have access when I needed it most it may have been the opportunity I needed to save myself from massive amounts of failure and painful scenarios where I doubted my very existence. The Gloves off program teams up with mentors who have walked these same paths and had to figure out on there own how to navigate very tough situations so they may be able to act as a navigation System similar to a GPS on where to step to find solid ground even in the most challenging situations, and that in itself is a very important aspect of what Gloves off offers our community.
